MODON, FIP Sign MoU to Boost National Talent and Localize Food Industry
In a significant step aimed at enhancing national competencies and localizing the food industry in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Food Industries Polytechnic. The signing ceremony took place under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of the Makkah Region, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal Al Saud, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, as well as His Excellency Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources.
The MoU was signed by Majid Al-Argoubi, CEO of MODON, and Ibrahim Alegaily, CEO of the Food Industries Polytechnic.
This strategic agreement aims to strengthen the polytechnic’s role in achieving workforce localization goals within the food industry sector across the 36 industrial cities managed by MODON, including the prominent Food Cluster in Jeddah.
The agreement is expected to boost the efficiency and skills of trainees while enhancing employment opportunities and supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in job localization and industrial development.
Alegaily emphasized the polytechnic’s commitment to being a strategic partner in the localization process, stating that the MoU will enhance training and employment opportunities in the food sector — a vital pillar of the Kingdom’s economy.
He also noted that the agreement contributes to the success of the Food Cluster Program, which falls under the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), and will strengthen the skills of Saudi youth through the development of tailored programs that empower and uplift national talent.
This MoU represents a strategic move to support and advance the food manufacturing sector, which plays a central role in achieving the goals of Vision 2030. The partnership is expected to improve the work environment, develop national capabilities, and further establish Saudi Arabia as a regional hub for the food industry.
في خطوة تهدف إلى تطوير الكفاءات الوطنية وتوطين صناعة الغذاء في المملكة، وتحت رعاية أمير منطقة مكة المكرمة صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير خالد بن فيصل بن عبد العزيز آل سعود؛ وبحضور الأمير سعود بن مشعل بن عبد العزيز آل سعود نائب أمير منطقة مكة المكرمة؛ وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية الاستاذ بندر بن إبراهيم الخريف.
وقع الرئيس التنفيذي للهيئة السعودية للمدن الصناعية ومناطق التقنية “مدن” ومناطق التقنية ماجد العرقوبي، مذكرة تفاهم مع المدير التنفيذي لمعهد الصناعات الغذائية، الأستاذ إبراهيم العقيلي.
الاتفاقية تُعد خطوة استراتيجية لتمكين دور المعهد في تحقيق أهداف التوطين بقطاع الصناعات الغذائية في المدن الصناعية بوزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية؛ من خلال 36 مدينة صناعية تابعة للهيئة السعودية للمدن الصناعية ومناطق التقنية؛ ومنها التجمع الغذائي بجدة.
ومن المقرر أن تساهم تلك الاتفاقية في زيادة كفاءة ومهارات المتدربين في القطاع وتعزيز فرص العمل، بما يدعم مستهدفات رؤية السعودية 2030 لتوطين الوظائف.
من جانبه أكد الأستاذ إبراهيم العقيلي أن المعهد يسعى لأن يكون شريكًا استراتيجيًا في تحقيق التوطين، مشيرًا إلى أن هذه الاتفاقية تعزز فرص التدريب والتوظيف ضمن الصناعات الغذائية، أحد القطاعات الحيوية للاقتصاد السعودي.
وأوضح الأستاذ إبراهيم العقيلي، أن الاتفاقية تساهم في إنجاح برنامج التجمعات الغذائية كأحد مستهدفات برنامج تطوير الصناعة المحلية والخدمات اللوجستية؛ وكذلك تعزيز قدرات الشباب السعودي في مسار رفع المهارات وخلق برامج تساهم في تمكين وتطوير الكوادر الوطنية.
تمثل هذه المذكرة خطوة استراتيجية لدعم قطاع الصناعات الغذائية، الذي يُعد أحد الأعمدة الرئيسية لرؤية 2030.
ويُتوقع أن تُسهم الشراكة بين “مدن” ومعهد الصناعات الغذائية في تحسين بيئة العمل وتطوير المهارات الوطنية، مما يعزز من مكانة المملكة كمركز رئيسي للصناعات الغذائية في المنطقة.
